Use the online calculator for arithmetic, parentheses, powers, square roots and percentages. Enter an expression or click the keys; results are calculated in your browser.
How to use the calculator
The result updates automatically as you type. Use parentheses to group operations. Powers use ^, square roots use sqrt(), and pi or π inserts the circle constant.
The percentage operator divides by 100: 200*10% = 20. Therefore 200+10% equals 200.1; to increase 200 by 10%, enter 200*(1+10%).
Example: (12+8)*5 = 100; sqrt(81) = 9; 2^3 = 8.
Order of operations
Powers and functions are evaluated before multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. Exponentiation is right-associative: 2^3^2 = 512.
Unary minus has lower priority than exponentiation: -2^2 = -4; (-2)^2 = 4. Division by zero and undefined real results produce an error.
